At House with a Heart Senior Pet Sanctuary, founder Sher Polvinale received a call that would change everything. A woman reached out, hoping to find help for Bella, Hudson, and Ciroc—a 15-year-old mother and her two 13-year-old sons. Their owner had recently passed away, and the woman was struggling to care for the trio alongside her other dogs and her own life challenges.
Polvinale planned to help by networking with rescue partners, but when the woman revealed she was considering giving the dogs up elsewhere, Sher urgently asked her to bring them directly to the sanctuary. Despite living over an hour away, the woman agreed.
When Bella, Hudson, and Ciroc arrived, they were nervous but soon began settling in. Each dog needs medical care: Bella and Hudson suffer from serious heart conditions and dental disease, while Ciroc has dental issues and an ear infection.
“We do not regret accepting them for a second,” Polvinale shared. “Our motto at House with a Heart is ‘Love lives here,’ and we intend to love Bella, Hudson, and Ciroc for as long as possible.”
This story is a reminder of the sanctuary’s vital mission—giving senior pets a place filled with love and care during their golden years.
