A tragic collision between a van and a truck on BR-251 in Grão Mogol, Minas Gerais, killed nine people, including a 4-year-old child, and injured 12 others. The van was transporting seasonal workers returning to Ceará after harvest work. Preliminary investigations indicate the truck crossed into the opposite lane, causing the head-on crash, with rain and fog possibly contributing. Authorities are also examining speeding as a factor. Investigators found the van lacked authorization for interstate passenger transport, raising safety concerns. A full technical report is expected within 30 days to determine the cause and any legal responsibility.
