A tragic bus crash in Brazil’s São Paulo state killed 12 university students and injured 21 others. The accident occurred near Nuporanga as students traveled home from the University of Franca. Authorities said the crash involved a university bus and a truck, with the cause still under investigation. Governor Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas declared three days of mourning and expressed condolences to the victims’ families. The University of Franca suspended classes and offered support to students and staff. The truck driver is in custody while receiving medical care as legal proceedings continue. Officials are also reviewing road safety measures to help prevent similar tragedies.
