A group of 12 children, later nicknamed the “Tremendous Twelve,” became unlikely heroes in Surrey after helping police locate two burglary suspects during an Easter egg hunt near Capel. Alongside a small Yorkshire terrier named Molly, the children noticed a police helicopter searching overhead and soon spotted a man running across a nearby field while attempting to disguise himself.

When shouting and waving failed to attract attention from the helicopter crew, two of the children came up with a creative solution: the group lay on the ground in the shape of a giant arrow pointing toward the fleeing suspect. The helicopter pilot eventually noticed the unusual formation and alerted officers below, who quickly moved in and detained two men connected to a nearby farm burglary investigation.

The incident quickly gained international attention after Surrey Police released video footage online. Police praised the children’s quick thinking and teamwork, calling their actions extremely helpful during the search operation.
