A story that captured hearts across Southern California now has a joyful ending — Sunny, a 7-year-old yellow Labrador, has been found and reunited with her owner, 93-year-old Norman Feigenbaum.
Sunny went missing earlier this month after slipping through a fence at Feigenbaum’s West Hills home. For nearly two weeks, Norman and the local community searched tirelessly — checking security cameras, posting online, and combing the area near Chatsworth Reservoir.
On Friday morning, Dog Days Search & Rescue confirmed the happy news: “OMG! Sunny is SAFE!” they posted. The rescue team had successfully trapped Sunny and reunited her with Norman after 13 long days. Though tired and with a few minor cuts, Sunny is expected to fully recover.
A heartwarming photo shows the emotional moment Norman embraced his beloved dog, tears in his eyes, gratitude in his heart. “She’s a loving, sweet, fine dog — and I’ve got to find her,” he had told reporters just days before.
Thanks to the help of volunteers, neighbors, and the dedication of Dog Days Search & Rescue, Norman finally has her back.
Sunny’s journey reminds us: even after days of uncertainty, love can still find its way home. 🐾💛
