At Stillwater Animal Welfare in Oklahoma, two inseparable sibling dogs, named Bonnie and Clyde, were rescued from the streets. After no one claimed them, they were vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered, and put up for adoption.
Eventually, Clyde was adopted — but Bonnie was left behind, heartbroken and alone. The shelter shared a touching photo of her curled up in her kennel, writing, “Bonnie is completely alone now and clearly misses her brother.”

Despite her sadness, Bonnie remained gentle and loving. Shelter staff said she adored attention, was great with kids and other dogs, and behaved perfectly during a parade walk.

Luckily, her wait didn’t last long. On a Monday morning, a woman named Brayden Routh showed up at the shelter — ready to give Bonnie a forever home. Brayden shared that Bonnie, now named Ember, is settling in well and has a new dog sister, Tally, a Blue Heeler mix.
Even better, Brayden offered to pay for Ember’s heartworm treatment herself, so the shelter could help more animals.
“Ember and Tally became best friends instantly,” Brayden said. “She’s the perfect addition to my life!”
