Sad update on ‘ugly’ pit bull that no one wanted

Wally, a senior pit bull with health issues and a unique appearance, spent over a year at the Town of Islip Animal Shelter waiting for a home. Despite being sweet and affectionate, he was often overlooked due to his looks and need to be an only pet. Shelter staff adored him, but the prolonged wait took a toll. Thankfully, Wally eventually found a loving home in Warwick, NY, where he thrived—even befriending another dog. In 2021, Wally passed away from cancer, but he left a lasting legacy of love, teaching his family the deep bond a senior dog can offer.
