Rescuers Were Notified About 2 Pups Living In A Pile Of Trash Only To Be Surprised When They Arrived

Big Surprise

Since the dogs didn’t really trust the rescuers, they had some trouble catching them. In the end, they decided that the best plan of action was to set up traps.

“We quickly managed to trap the momma dog, and we also trapped a young female dog that we believe was her daughter from her previous litter,” said Sylvia Lopez of Houston Dog Outreach Guardians.

But then, Lopez saw another dog hiding in the trash. She soon realized that there weren’t only two dogs who needed their help, but an entire family.

Mom, Dad, three daughters, and even a Grandma were all waiting to be saved.

We managed to chase behind Grandma, then she got tired of running and gave up. She didn’t put up a fight [because] she was exhausted.

Catch Them All

The rescue team was on the field the entire day trying to save this abandoned family, but the pups had simply lost all their trust in humans.

Not having too much luck, they decided to set up more traps and call it a night.

But, by the next morning, their luck had changed.

“I went to check the traps at 5 a.m. and, thankfully, Daddy and puppy were trapped safely,” Lopez said.

However, there was one more dog who was still running around the industrial area of Houston, the youngest daughter.

Lopez left one more trap behind, hoping this one would catch her, and he took the rest of the pups back to the rescue, reconnecting them with their family.

Later that same day, we went back to check the trap and finally trapped the last dog, the young daughter. We reunited the whole family at our holding facility.

New Beginning

As soon as everybody was back together, with a roof over their head and a nice meal in their tummies, they started acting like themselves.

The 2-year-old mom, who now goes by the name Naomi, is very sweet and trusting. Her 8-month-old daughters were quite scared at first, but over time, they learned that there was nothing to be afraid of.

Her 2-month-old daughter, Abigail, was also quite scared at first, but as soon as she warmed up a bit, she was a very playful pup.

The 2-year-old dad, Thomas, still needs some time to adjust to his new surroundings, but as soon as his family is with him, he will feel much better.

On the other hand, the 10-year-old grandma adapted to her new environment as soon as she arrived, loving everybody she meets and enjoying her walks very much.

Shannon and Christel, the daughters, will stay at the rescue alongside their grandma while the rest of the family has already gone to foster families, patiently waiting for their forever homes.

Final Word

Let this truly inspiring story serve as a reminder that when a family sticks together, there is nothing that they cannot do.

I wish them all the luck in their future lives, hoping that their new families will love them as much as they love each other.
