December brought magic for Bonnie, a sweet street pup who had a rough end to 2023. Found roaming Oklahoma City with her best friend, Clyde, the two were inseparable — doing everything together, even after being rescued by Stillwater Animal Welfare.
Unlike most dogs who grow independent in the shelter, Bonnie and Clyde remained deeply bonded. Sadly, they were eventually separated when Clyde was adopted into a loving home, leaving Bonnie devastated. She shut down, lying quietly in her kennel, missing her brother terribly.
Despite her heartbreak, Bonnie’s story took a beautiful turn. In December, a kind woman named Brayden Routh visited the shelter and instantly connected with Bonnie. It was as if Bonnie had been waiting for her all along.
Now in her forever home, Bonnie is thriving! She gained a loving mom, a cozy place to sleep, and a new sister — a Blue Heeler named Tally. With Tally by her side, Bonnie quickly adjusted and blossomed into the playful, affectionate dog she was always meant to be.
Once a lonely stray, Bonnie is now surrounded by love and joy, ready to embrace her new life filled with cuddles, adventures, and endless tail wags.
