On Thanksgiving, Oregon State Police found a stolen U-Haul truck abandoned at a Love’s Truck Stop in Klamath Falls. When troopers approached, they heard barking inside.
After obtaining a warrant, they opened the truck and discovered seven cages holding fifteen dogs and puppies, all alive but in poor condition. The animals were taken to the Klamath County Animal Shelter for care.
Investigators later tracked down the suspects and rescued ten more dogs. In total, twenty-five animals were saved.
David Eugene McMillion, 50, was arrested on multiple charges including Animal Abandonment, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, and Animal Neglect. Lisa Annette Weeks, 39, faces similar charges.

One puppy tested positive for parvo and is receiving treatment, while the rest are recovering. Once medically cleared, they’ll be put up for adoption.
OSP noted that the shelter has already received dozens of adoption applications. Many of the dogs appear to be Rottweilers, and some commenters even suggested OSP keep one as a future trooper dog.
This Thanksgiving rescue means a second chance at life for every pup—and a future filled with love instead of neglect.
