Officer Wounded, Woman Killed in Nashville Shootout During Traffic Stop

A routine traffic stop in Nashville turned deadly within minutes, leaving a police officer seriously wounded and a young woman dead. Metro Nashville Police Officer Josh Baker stopped a black Chevrolet Camaro connected to a wanted man, but encountered 31-year-old Nika Holbert instead. During the stop, officers reportedly discovered a suspicious substance and attempted to arrest her. Holbert resisted, returned to the vehicle, and allegedly pulled out a handgun after a Taser failed to stop her. She fired, striking Baker below his protective vest. Baker returned fire as Holbert fled, later crashing nearby. She died at the hospital, while Baker was reported in stable condition.
