After many years of service and several knee surgeries, Air Force Staff Sergeant Clay Luthy had to retire. Finding a new job was hard because he needed to bring his service dog, Charlotte, everywhere he went. 
Most companies said no — until he went to Lowe’s in Abilene, Texas. When Clay asked if bringing Charlotte would be a problem, they said, “Absolutely not! We have service dogs here too.” 
Lowe’s hired him, and Charlotte even got her own Lowe’s vest and a cozy spot to rest during work. Customers love seeing them together! Clay says the job gives him purpose, friends, and peace knowing Charlotte is always by his side. 
He’s now training a young dog named Lola to follow in Charlotte’s paws.
