Kohl’s has announced plans to close 27 underperforming stores across 13 states as part of a broader effort to improve its long-term financial performance. The closures represent only a small fraction of the retailer’s approximately 1,150 stores nationwide. According to the company, the decision is intended to streamline operations and strengthen profitability while continuing to serve customers through its remaining locations. Most affected stores will continue operating as usual until their scheduled closures, which are expected to be completed by April. Kohl’s emphasized that this move is part of its ongoing strategy to adapt to changing retail market conditions.
