Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff met on a blind date in 2013 and quickly fell in love. However, Harris delayed meeting his children, Cole and Ella, because she wanted to ensure their relationship was serious first. Having experienced her parents’ divorce, she understood how difficult introducing a new partner could be for children. When they finally met, the bond was immediate. The couple married in 2014, and Cole and Ella lovingly gave her the nickname “Momala.”
