Jake’s former family claimed they loved him, but despite raising him as an indoor dog and teaching him commands like shaking paws, they never once took him to a vet.

It wasn’t until Jake was found wandering in a remote part of Texas that his story began to change.

Cribs for Canines stepped in, working with the family until they finally surrendered him so he could get the medical care he had been denied for so long.

Jake was brought to the Texas Animal Medical Center in Waco, where Dr. Lide and his team immediately began treatment.

In the first step toward relief, they drained an incredible 1200cc of fluid from his neck. The change was almost immediate.

“For the first time in six years, Jake was able to turn his head,” the rescue team shared. “It was such a simple thing, but for him, it meant everything.”

Jake is now eating well, going to the bathroom normally, and his spirits have lifted. While there’s no guarantee of a full recovery, the team caring for him is giving their all to help him heal.

After years of silent suffering, Jake finally has people fighting for him. His journey is a reminder that every animal deserves attention, care, and a chance to live without pain.
