When rescued, over half his body was covered in burns. His leg was broken, leaving him unable to walk. He battled a severe infection and life-threatening anemia. His condition was the result of unspeakable cruelty—something no living being should ever endure.

We fought for him with everything we had: around-the-clock care, pain management, antibiotics, blood work, and—above all—love. He was finally safe, surrounded by people who saw his worth. But his fragile body could not recover from the immense suffering he had endured for so long.

Luiz Carlos may have lived most of his life in pain, but he did not leave this world alone. He left with dignity, compassion, and care. His story broke hearts, opened eyes, and reminded us why we fight every day for voiceless animals.
