Couple with dwarfism have children against all the odds

Charli Worgan and her husband Cullen, both with different forms of dwarfism, have faced unique challenges when it comes to having children. Living in Sydney, they were often questioned by others about why they wanted to have children, given their genetic conditions. Charli, who has a form of dwarfism called Achondroplasia, and Cullen, who has Geleophysic Dysplasia, were warned by doctors about the risks involved in having kids, but they chose to move forward anyway.

After the birth of their first daughter, Charli began sharing their family’s journey on social media. What started as an educational effort soon gained popularity, and Charli’s Instagram account now has over 300,000 followers. Today, they have two beautiful daughters, Tully and Tilba, both of whom have one of the types of dwarfism. Charli’s third pregnancy came with mixed emotions as they faced the possibility of their baby inheriting one or both types of dwarfism, or even being of average height. There was also the risk of “double dominant dwarfism,” which doctors had warned could be fatal.

Despite the challenges, Charli and Cullen have been transparent about their journey, sharing both the joys and struggles with their followers. Charli has opened up about the heartache of undergoing genetic testing, and how each pregnancy was filled with uncertainty. However, their third child, a baby boy named Rip, was born in February, and Charli expressed gratitude and joy in her posts.

Charli’s willingness to share her personal experiences has inspired many. She proves that, regardless of the odds, parenthood is a deeply personal and fulfilling journey. The Worgan family continues to grow and thrive, and their story is a testament to resilience, love, and the importance of kindness.
