Kendra and Maliyah Herrin were born conjoined on February 26, 2002, in Utah, sharing vital organs—including one kidney. Doctors urged their parents to consider abortion, but Erin and Jake chose hope.
Facing immense risk, the family waited until the girls were four for a separation surgery. On August 7, 2006, a team of surgeons successfully separated the twins, with Kendra keeping the kidney and Maliyah needing a transplant.
Their recovery was long and painful, with bandage changes, rehab, and dialysis. But the twins defied the odds.
Later, their mother Erin selflessly donated her kidney to Maliyah.
Today, Kendra and Maliyah stand as living proof of courage, family love, and medical miracles—an inspiring journey of survival and strength.
