Mama Gladice arrived at Lancaster Animal Care Center in Southern California with her four puppies, a stray just trying to care for her babies. After a week, all the puppies found forever homes, but Gladice was left behind.

Shelter volunteer Evelyn Garces noticed a heartbreaking change in Gladice after her puppies were adopted. Once quiet and shy, she became withdrawn and sad, spending her days sleeping or lying down without any signs of joy. Gladice seemed to struggle to understand where her puppies had gone and why she couldn’t join them. Volunteers watched with heavy hearts as she lost her spark.

With the shelter overcrowded and on lockdown, Gladice faced the risk of euthanasia. In response, volunteers urgently reached out to rescue groups for help. Promise 4 Paws Rescue answered the call and saved Gladice from the shelter.

Now in the care of the rescue, Gladice is getting the love and medical attention she needs. Though she has some health issues, the team is committed to making her comfortable and finding her a perfect forever home.
