In a quiet countryside, a two-year-old lurcher was found chained to a metal fence, barely able to move. Beside her lay six newborn puppies, blind and helpless, exposed to the cold without food or shelter. Despite her suffering, the mother dog curled herself to nurse and protect her babies, her instinct keeping them alive. Rescuers soon arrived, rushing the little family to the ISPCA in County Longford. Miraculously, all seven dogs were found healthy, thanks to the mother’s devotion and timely intervention.

Named Billy Ray, Dixie, Dolly, Dotty, June, and Patsy, the puppies now thrive in safety. Their mother is healing too, no longer bound, but surrounded by warmth and care.
