A legacy of health: Soong Mei-ling – longevity and fight against cancer

Soong Mei-ling, also known as Madame Chiang, was a prominent political figure and the wife of Chinese president Chiang Kai-shek. Diagnosed with cancer at 40, she beat the disease and lived to 106.

Her healthy lifestyle, influenced by Traditional Chinese Medicine, included strict daily habits and nutrition. She followed a bedtime routine of 11 p.m. to 9 a.m. sleep and spent two hours daily on creative activities.

Her diet featured cold water with lemon, kiwis, pineapples, lychees, celery, and spinach. Soong Mei-ling ate five small meals a day, stopping when she was about 70% full, a habit that inspired many, especially those seeking weight loss. She passed away in 2003.
