Three people lost their lives in a devastating highway accident early Sunday morning on I-85 in South Carolina. The collision, which officials described as “horrifying,” happened near mile marker 75 just after midnight.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 2015 Honda Sedan was traveling the wrong way on I-85 North when it collided head-on with a 2019 Toyota Sedan. Tragically, the driver of the Honda and both occupants of the Toyota were killed at the scene.

The crash didn’t end there. The Honda also struck a 2024 Ford Expedition carrying six people. Miraculously, no one in that vehicle was injured.
Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims. An investigation is ongoing.
This tragedy occurs as many Americans are hitting the roads for vacation and fall travel. But with increased traffic and distractions, the risks on highways can be deadly. Officials are urging drivers to stay alert and cautious.
