In what’s being called a miraculous survival, a British soldier is recovering after falling 15,000 feet during a parachute training exercise in California — and crashing through the roof of a residential home.
The accident occurred during a multinational military drill near Camp Roberts. While other participants landed safely, the soldier’s parachute failed to deploy, sending him hurtling to the ground.

He landed in the kitchen of a home in Atascadero, smashing through the roof and ceiling. Incredibly, he survived with only moderate injuries. No one was inside the home at the time.

Local nurse Rose Martin was one of the first on the scene. “His eyes were open, but I didn’t want anyone to move him,” she told reporters.
Officials confirmed the cause as a parachute malfunction. The soldier was treated at a local hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61573537220192

Military and FAA investigators are now reviewing equipment and safety protocols. Experts say surviving such a fall is extremely rare, crediting the structure of the house for softening the impact.
The Atascadero community has rallied around the soldier and homeowners, calling the survival “a true miracle.”https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61573537220192
