A 20-year-old Florida woman, Cassi Taylor of Palm Bay, was killed in a chain-reaction crash on Interstate 95 near Titusville late Sunday night. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Canadian driver struck an alligator that had entered the roadway, leaving his Mercedes disabled. Taylor, traveling behind in a Toyota Tacoma, swerved to avoid the vehicle, lost control, and overturned. She was ejected into the interstate, where an unidentified third vehicle struck her and fled the scene. Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators are seeking information about the hit-and-run driver. Her family described her as a young woman with a heart of gold.
