In the viral moment, the former child star appears disheveled and struggling, sparking a wave of shock, sympathy — and backlash over whether filming him in that state was helpful or exploitative.

After the clip blew up, a GoFundMe reportedly popped up — but it was quickly shut down at his mother’s request, with her saying he needs medical attention, not money, and that cash wouldn’t necessarily help if he can’t safely manage it.
