Emirates Flight EK521, a Boeing 777-300 traveling from Thiruvananthapuram, India, to Dubai, crash-landed during its arrival at Dubai International Airport. Strong winds and wind shear contributed to a failed landing and go-around attempt, causing the aircraft to skid along the runway before catching fire. Thanks to the swift actions of the flight crew and emergency responders, all 300 passengers and crew evacuated safely before the flames engulfed the aircraft. Tragically, firefighter Jasim Al Baloushi lost his life while battling the blaze. The investigation concluded that a combination of weather conditions and operational factors caused the accident, leading to improvements in pilot training and aviation safety procedures.
