Dashcam footage released by investigators reveals a violent roadside encounter in South Carolina that left an Anderson County deputy seriously injured and a suspect dead. The incident occurred on April 20 along Interstate 85 near Townville. Authorities say 32-year-old Austin Robertson of Pennsylvania, who had been detained and placed in a patrol vehicle, attempted to escape custody. Video shows deputies struggling to restrain him and deploying tasers during the confrontation. Robertson allegedly returned to a nearby vehicle, leading to an exchange of gunfire. Deputy Alex Albrech was critically wounded and underwent multiple surgeries. Robertson died at the scene.
