Active shooter ‘guns down twenty people at Minneapolis church’

A mass shooting in Minneapolis, at the Annunciation Church on the 500 block of West 54th Street, has led to a major police and emergency response.

The tragic event, which took place on August 27, 2025, resulted in at least two fatalities, with many others injured. According to reports, approximately 20 people were harmed, and four of them are in critical condition, per KARE 11.

Several children are reported to be among the victims and have been evacuated from the scene.

The situation began at around 8:30AM local time, triggering a large-scale response from law enforcement and emergency services.

Authorities have also been investigating the presence of a possible explosive device inside the church. The bomb squad is currently on site, along with a significant number of police officers and a State Patrol Helicopter.

A local resident, Michael Kraabel, shared his experience on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “I live in Tangletown, Minneapolis and just heard a massive shoot out just a couple blocks from my house. 100+ rounds. Now we hear sirens coming.”
