It’s hard to believe anyone could abandon a helpless animal, yet that’s the harsh reality for many. In Missouri, a truck driver taking a break in a park spotted a heartbreaking sight—a tiny puppy left in a tub on top of a trash can. Unable to help himself, he called Stray Rescue of St. Louis. By the time rescuers arrived, the puppy had vanished. Using a thermal camera, they eventually found him hidden in nearby bushes—weak, shaking, and fighting for life.
Named Flir after the camera that helped save him, the pup was rushed to a vet and diagnosed with parvovirus. His condition was critical: vomiting, fever, and no appetite. He needed two emergency vets, round-the-clock care, and two blood transfusions to survive. Against all odds—and thanks to a determined rescue team and generous community—Flir pulled through.
Flir’s story touched many, including Stephanie Meyer Schmitz, who adopted him into a loving home. Now named Oliver, he thrives with his new family and dog sister, Poppy. From being discarded like trash to living a life filled with joy and adventure, Oliver is proof that with love and care, even the most broken beginnings can lead to the happiest endings.
God bless the truck driver and all who put in the time to save this sweet precious baby especially Stephanie Meyer Schmitz. I hope you’re enjoying best life Oliver with your new sister Poppy. Sending you lots of love and prayers.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
