At 13 years old, Mishi had never known anything but love. She was her dad’s faithful companion, by his side through every chapter of life. But when he faced eviction and possible homelessness, he made a heartbreaking decision: to surrender Mishi to the Anita’s Stevens Swan Humane Society in New York, hoping she’d find a better life.
They walked three miles to the shelter together. Their goodbye, filled with tears, was one of the most painful the staff had ever witnessed. Mishi cried for her dad. He cried for the dog he could no longer care for.
Life in the kennel has been incredibly hard for Mishi. The cold, unfamiliar environment replaced the warmth of home. She whimpers constantly, still waiting for someone to come back for her.
Yet even through grief, Mishi remains gentle, loving, and full of life. She’s spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and gets along well with people and other animals.
Mishi doesn’t need much—just a soft bed, a quiet home, and a heart willing to love her again. In her golden years, she deserves peace, not loneliness.
Please consider giving this loyal soul the second chance she so deeply deserves.
