Just like human babies, puppies need their mothers for comfort, care, and survival. But for a tiny Africanis mix named Panda, that essential bond was missing. At just two months old, Panda was already searching for love and safety — things she had never truly known.

In an attempt to bring joy, someone gave Panda to a group of children. But she was far too young to be away from her mother, and the children, not understanding her needs, treated her like a toy. Thankfully, one of the children’s mothers recognized the danger and stepped in.
Unable to give Panda the care she needed, the woman contacted Sidewalk Specials, a South African rescue group. The team found Panda thin, weak, and barely able to stand. She was rushed to the vet, where they discovered she had Biliary, a deadly tick-borne disease, and was dangerously underweight.

Panda needed intensive care, but the rescue team was committed to helping her heal. They shared her story, hoping to find her a loving home.
Her journey is a powerful reminder: puppies need to stay with their mothers for at least eight weeks. Because people cared, Panda now has a fighting chance — and, for the first time, a future filled with hope.
