Paul and Gail Cline: A Story of Survival and Love in the Face of Tragedy
Two weeks after a deadly EF-4 tornado devastated parts of Kentucky, Paul and Gail Cline’s story has become one of incredible survival and love. The couple, both in their 60s, each lost an arm while holding onto each other as their home collapsed around them. Despite their injuries, their bond remains unshaken.
After days on ventilators, Gail was finally able to speak—and her first words to Paul were, “I love you.” The couple has since reunited in the hospital, smiling through their pain.
Their recovery will be long and uncertain, but their family remains hopeful. Their son, Jeff, praised first responders and neighbors who helped save their lives, calling them “the real heroes in capes.”
With the support of their community and donations through GoFundMe, the Clines continue to fight—proving that love and resilience can survive even the fiercest storms.
