Drivers are being warned to keep their windscreens clear as colder weather increases condensation inside vehicles. Fogged-up windows can significantly reduce visibility, especially on chilly mornings and damp evenings, raising the risk of accidents. Under the UK Highway Code, motorists must ensure their windscreen and front windows remain clean and free from obstructions before driving. Failing to do so could result in a fine of up to £1,000 and three penalty points. Experts recommend keeping a microfibre cloth in the car to quickly remove condensation, helping improve visibility, stay safe on the road, and avoid unnecessary legal penalties.
