Ruth Buzzi, the Emmy-nominated comedian best known for playing Gladys Ormphby on Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In, died peacefully on May 1, 2025, at age 88. She had been receiving hospice care after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born in Rhode Island, Buzzi built a successful career in television, film, and voice acting. She was the only performer to appear in every episode of Laugh-In and earned a Golden Globe and multiple Emmy nominations. Buzzi also appeared on Sesame Street and voiced characters in popular animated series. She is survived by her husband, Kent Perkins.
